This program and discussion, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Office of the Provost at MSU and will explore a number of questions related to the concept of "academic freedom." In 1940, the American Association of University Professors adopted a policy on acadmic freedom which is still in use today. Is that definition still relevant? What rights, protections and responsibilities are implied or conferred,to whom and under what circumstances? Do students, too, have rights, and when can those be excercised? See the program on the Wheeler website and join us.
