Resodyn adds Butte jobs

While the flu season is only a few months long, it takes drug companies nearly a year to make the flu vaccine.

But scientists at Resodyn Corp. http://www.resodyn.com/ are looking for ways to speed up the process of making vaccines, with help from a $2.6 million grant.

“We’re looking at some bioreactors to produce vaccines with,” said bioengineer Todd McAdams. “In a matter of two months rather than six or eight, you might be able to produce a new vaccine.” Resodyn, headquartered in Uptown Butte, secured a $2.6 million contract through the U.S. Combat Casualty Care Research Program in Maryland, with help from U.S. Sen. Conrad Burns, R-Mont., said president Larry Farrar.

“These are our first efforts in (biomedical) areas,” he said.
