Guide. "Hands of Harvest" helps folks find NorthCentrel Montana region’s hidden craft, cultural attractions

Virgelle Mercantile and Antiques owner Don Sorensen offers customers lodging at his historical bed and breakfast, guided canoe trips down the Missouri River, good meals and more.

But getting to his place requires an eight-mile trip on a gravel road off Highway 87.

Northcentral Montana is peppered with similar operations including artist studios, organic farms and woodworking shops. They are places where owners welcome tourists and visitors, but those owners also realize people need a little help finding them.

That’s the premise a coalition of volunteers used three years ago to create Hands of Harvest, a set of trails leading to fine craft and cultural spots in the Golden Triangle area.
