Meridian, Idaho grads may get chance to study at foreign schools. District looks at international baccalaureate plan

If Meridian School District leaders get their way, some class of 2010 graduates will have the academic chops to enroll in Paris’ esteemed Sorbonne or any other foreign university.

A group of principals and curriculum directors is studying the possibility of adding the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme http://www.ibo.org/ to Meridian’s array of school choices that include art and math magnet schools, pre-professional, technical schools and more.

"The program is intended for students who would like a more global education," said Jan Horning, Meridian assistant superintendent of academics.
