Idaho Senate kills math, science incentive. Some fear divisive impact of unequal pay for teachers
February 18, 2006 /
Idaho senators rejected a proposal Thursday to give math and science teachers a 3.75 percent pay raise, saying it wouldn’t help Idaho schools and would create friction among teachers.
"This opens the door to warfare in the school," said Sen. Denton Darrington, R-Declo, a former social studies teacher.
The measure failed 21-13.
