3 Rivers, Kalispell company, Auroras to offer TV service on Internet

A Fairfield-based communications company is taking its TV offerings to the Internet.

3 Rivers Communications http://www.3riverswireless.com/ has teamed up with Auroras Entertainment http://www.auroras.tv , a Kalispell start-up company, to offer what is called Internet Protocol Television, or IPTV.

The technology allows TV programming like that offered by cable and satellite companies to be delivered to subscribers through a broadband Internet connection. The programming can be viewed on regular TV sets.

"3 Rivers Communications has always been committed to bringing advanced technology to rural Montanans," said Darren Moser, the company’s general manager. "Fifty years ago, that meant telephone service. Today, that means IPTV."
