Pinedale, Wyoming schools try to give money away

At a time when many Wyoming school districts are scrambling for dollars, one district has so much money it has been trying to give it away.
A booming oil and natural gas industry has swollen the coffers of Sublette County School District 1 in Pinedale.
This school year the district will collect $67 million more in property taxes than the $7 million it is guaranteed for school operations under the state’s K-12 funding formula.
