Pocatello, Idaho company, AMI Semiconductor shows how investing in research pays off

There are a lot of ingredients for winning in the marketplace says Christine King, CEO of AMI Semiconductor in Pocatello, and she thinks Idaho has what it takes.

If Idaho leaders want to see how investing in research and development can pay off, they need look no further than Pocatello.

That’s where they will find the headquarters of AMI Semiconductor Inc., a company that makes computer chips for the automotive, medical and defense industries.

AMI moved its headquarters to Idaho in 2001 and has grown to dominate several growing technology markets, Christine King, president and chief executive officer of AMI, told lawmakers, technology officials and other business and community leaders at the 2006 Legislative Forum sponsored by the Idaho Statesman and Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce.
