Homemade Renegades. Harley-powered cruisers to be built in North Idaho

The Renegade has come to North Idaho.

Coeur d’Alene is the new home of Renegade motorcycles, with production of the 2006 models expected to begin early next year.

A.J. Basile, owner of Classic Rides & Customs http://www.vintagestreetrods.com/ , purchased the manufacturing license of the financially troubled Las Vegas company after negotiations that lasted a good part of the year, and will build the Harley-powered cruisers at his sales office at 1705 Northwest Blvd., where he formerly ran a tractor and equipment business.

"I want to do what’s fun," he said. "This is fun to me."
