MSU and Bozeman businessess slated for millions in defense funding

Bozeman-area companies and Montana State University are slated to receive more than $23 million from the federal defense appropriations bill for fiscal year 2006, Sen. Conrad Burns’ office announced Tuesday.

Amounts going to Bozeman-area businesses and MSU range from $2.8 million to $5.95 million.

Burns, (R.-Mont.), is a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and sits on the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.

The approved list of projects in the bill calls for more than $61 million to go to Montana, according to a press release from Burns’ office.
