Idaho could give films tax breaks

Idaho wants to go Hollywood.

The Idaho Film Industry Task Force has proposed two new financial incentives that will be introduced to the Idaho Legislature with the goal of increasing film and television production in Idaho.

The incentives include a 5 percent rebate on sales tax and a 10 percent rebate on labor expenditures for companies that hire Idaho residents for jobs that pay at least $11 per hour but not more than $125 per hour.

To qualify for either incentive, a production company must make a minimum investment in Idaho of $200,000 or more over a three-year period.
