Idaho State University medical school urged

Idaho State University Interim President Michael Gallagher urged the State Board of Education Thursday to address a shortage of physicians in the state by building ISU’s health-sciences program into a full-fledged medical school.

Gallagher said he felt it was an appropriate time to introduce the idea that Idahoans, specifically the State Board, should think seriously about the future of health and medical education in the state.

He said ISU is committed to following through with the medical mission and working toward a statewide medical school program that will ultimately benefit the citizens of Idaho.
