Governor looks to further boost trade with Mexico during trade trip scheduled for Dec. 3-10

Idaho government officials believe Mexico is poised to become one of the state’s most lucrative export markets.

Idaho could top the $100 million mark in products sold to Mexico this year, with even bigger numbers forecast for the future, according to officials with Idaho Commerce & Labor.

Gov. Dirk Kempthorne hopes to help the process along next month when he leads a delegation of 68 people on a trade mission to Mexico.

The delegation represents 24 Idaho businesses, four public and private universities, five trade organizations and even an elementary school on a trade mission to Mexico.

The trip is scheduled for Dec. 3-10.
