Department of Administration Director, Janet Kelly Announces New CIO for the State of Montana – Richard (Dick) Clark

Today Department of Administration Director Janet Kelly
announced the hiring of Richard (Dick) Clark as the new Chief
Information Officer (CIO) for the State of Montana.

"I look forward to working with Dick in facing the unique challenges of
planning and delivering high quality technology services to Montana
citizens and state agencies in an ever-changing technology environment."

Dick Clark, Helena – Clark is currently the Chief Information Officer at
the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT). Prior to that position
he was an Engineering Manager and Maintenance Review Section Supervisor
for the Department. Clark has developed and implemented numerous
programs at MDT including the pavement management system and electronic
data collection of roadway conditions. He is the chair of the
Information Technology Managers Council. Clark has a bachelor’s degree
from Northern Montana College and a master’s from the University of
Montana.

The position has been vacant since June of 2004. Jeff Brandt has been
serving as the Acting CIO. The salary for the position is $100,000.
Clark is expected to start his new position Monday, December 19th.
