1 Montana, 3 Idaho and 9 Utah firms make Inc.’s 500 fastest growing companies in the nation list

Each year Inc. magazine publishes the Inc. 500 list, a list of the nation’s fastest growing private companies. This year
Century Gaming of Missoula is ranked 303 on the list.

Century Gaming leases game machines to bars, grocery stores, and other mom-and-pops. Why it’s growing: Game consoles for video poker and keno run about $10,000 — and need a lot of maintenance. Century Gaming provides and services the games in exchange for a piece of the profits. The company operates 10,000 game consoles in Montana and Nevada.

3 Idaho businesses make Inc. list

They are among fastest-growing firms in nation

Three Idaho businesses will be on Inc. Magazine’s 24th annual Inc. 500 when the list of the nation’s fastest-growing privately owned companies is released today.

Topping the list among Idaho companies will be Bodybuilding.com of Boise in 230th place, followed by Bart Larsen Trucking of Roberts, in 362nd place and Boise-based Treetop Technologies in the 401st spot.

The annual list is compiled by averaging a company’s revenue growth over a three-year period, said Inc. Magazine spokesman Ryan Clancy.

The inclusion of two Boise companies on the Inc. 500 list was not the first time this year that major business publications have recognized the Treasure Valley for its favorable business climate.

Nine Utah companies made Inc. magazine’s list of the nation’s top 500 fastest-growing private companies in an annual ranking released today.

The magazine tracked cumulative year-over-year sales growth of the privately held companies from 2001 to 2004.

Virginia ranked first in the highest number of Inc. 500 companies per capita with 4.5 companies per million residents. Massachusetts ranked second at 4, and Utah ranked third at 3.7.

Companies included in the rankings posted an average three-year sales growth of 769 percent.
