Ground breaks for Canyon Hideaway in Hamilton, Montana

The excitement in the air was palpable.

Local contractors and builders moved quickly and efficiently Tuesday, cutting boards to size, placing beams and screwing in supports.

Each company had its own trailer backed up to the work area and the men worked together, not on a house or new business building, but on a brand new play structure.

Canyon Hideaway http://canyonhideaway.com/ playground at Claudia Driscoll Park in Hamilton is community designed and organized, said Dave Iannello, from playground planners Leathers and Associates from Ithica, N.Y. By Sunday afternoon the playground will be community built as well.

”That’s what makes this so powerful,“ Iannello said Tuesday as he watched volunteers brace support beams on the new park.
