Venture into Victor’s corn maze – if you dare – Qwivals
My first mistake was taking two 16-year-old boys at their word.
To show that I don’t bear a grudge, the two will remain nameless, but it really should have occurred to me that, given the chance, teenagers will use almost any opportunity to make adults look foolish.
Particularly if that adult is their high school journalism teacher.
It was last October and I was asking my class where a good place might be to take my wife, Wendy, and 8-year-old daughter, Rachael, for an autumn outing.
"Oh, go to Qwivals http://qwivals.com/ , to the haunted corn maze," Nate said. "It’s great; they’ll love it."
"Yeah," Tyler chimed in. "Go after dark. That’s when it’s the most fun."
"Is it scary?" I asked.
"Noooo … not at all," Nate said. "Just a few flashing lights. Nothing to it."
I thought the gleam in their eyes was innocent delight in helping their favorite teacher find something fun to do with his family.
I really did.
