University of Wyoming gets $7 million grant to study effects of climate change

The University of Wyoming will be able to hire new faculty and conduct research with the help of a $7 million grant from the National Science Foundation.
The project will explore the effects of global climate change and other environmental changes on ecosystems, both past and present.
UW botany professor Steve Jackson will direct the research program. He said about 20 professors in several academic departments currently study ecology and ecological issues at UW.
The grant also will enable the university to hire five new faculty members and support staff, as well as buying some new equipment.
