Blackfoot and 3 Rivers sell wireless telephone service to new venture – MTPCS

Cellular telephone customers of 3 Rivers http://www.3riverswireless.com/ have an expanded coverage area and a new carrier. Their wireless service will have a new name, too.

The Fairfield-based cooperative 3 Rivers Communications sold its wireless telephone service to a new venture named MTPCS.

That company also bought the wireless telephone business from Missoula-based Blackfoot Communications http://www.blackfoot.com .

"We’ve combined those assets into a new company," said Ernie Peterson, general manager and vice president of MTPCS. "We (3 Rivers and Blackfoot) have been cooperating on different things over the years, so it’s a nice addition to have it all in one company."
