Utah State’s Web site running with new content areas

The state recently launched an improvement to its Web site, http://www.utah.gov.

The redesign is the fifth in six years.

The site includes new content about volunteering and democracy and a news page. It retains 24/7 customer service features.

The new content areas of the Web site include http://www.helpyourneighbor.utah.gov, a volunteer resource Web site that directs visitors to volunteer opportunities at their regional volunteer center.

Also new is http://www.igov.utah.gov, which offers ways to get involved in Utah civic life, featuring information about elections, voting and participation in Utah government.

The site features technology allowing different Web pages to share breaking news effectively, with real-time news stories about Utah government at http://news.utah.gov; plus a Web site for alerts about missing children, weather, PowerForward energy conservation and homeland security at http://www.alerts.utah.gov.

The Web site is a collaborative effort between the state of Utah and Salt Lake-based Utah Interactive LLC. It was built and is marketed, operated and maintained by Utah Interactive, a wholly owned subsidiary of e-government firm NIC.
