New Montana Economic Development Initiatives from Tony Preite, Director, Montana Department of Commerce

Commerce Dept. Director Tony Preite presented "New Economic Development Initiatives from the Montana Department of Commerce" to the Interim Legislative Committee on June 24. It outlines a number of new legislative initiatives and how the dept. intends to carry them out. I encourage you to learn more about it and provide input to Mr. Preite and his staff. The goal of Montana is to move forward and this sets the stage.

Intro: Governor Schweitzer included economic development as one of his top priorities for the 2005 legislative session. As a result, a number of bills and appropriations were introduced and enacted that will enhance economic development in Montana.

This report addresses the initiatives that the Montana Department of Commerce is responsible for administering and delivering on behalf of the people of Montana.
