Extended Systems (Boise) expands security for its products – partners with Pointsec Mobile Technologies (Illinois)

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

A new partnership with an Illinois-based company will increase software security for a key Extended Systems http://www.extendedsystems.com/ product, the Boise company announced Monday.

The added security capabilities offered by Pointsec Mobile Technologies will supplement Extended’s OneBridge, a so-called "middleware" software product that connects mobile devices to corporate information, such as e-mail, either wirelessly or via traditional computers, Extended Systems officials said.

"Security is becoming more important. As PDAs (personal digital assistants) and (cellular) phones become smaller, they are easier to lose," Extended Systems spokeswoman Amy Childress said.

Boosting the security capacity of OneBridge products helps make mobile devices more secure, Childress added.
