Movie filmed in Butte goes international – "Don’t Come Knocking"

Still months away from its release in the United States, the Butte-filmed movie "Don’t Come Knocking" by noted German director Wim Wenders has already piqued global interest.

The movie debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in France. It was one of 20 feature films from 13 countries in competition at the 58th annual event, which ended May 22. Other notable directors included Gus Van Sant from the United States and Lars von Trier, of Denmark.

"I feel very proud of this film, and I am certain it is one of the best things I’ve done in my life," Wenders said at a Cannes press conference.

"Don’t Come Knocking" failed to earn any awards at Cannes, but its screening there was itself an honor. The selection of Wenders’ movie also marked his eighth film in competition at Cannes, according to the Cannes Web site (http://www.festival-cannes.fr).
