Zeebly zealots – Rattlesnake students in Dave Malouf’s class have created their own Web site thanks to Dr. Jakki Mohr, a marketing professor at the University of Montana.

It’s a rare day that Dave Malouf’s third-graders know something he doesn’t, but Tuesdays during the last half of this school year have been that kind of day.

That’s because his students at Rattlesnake Elementary School have been setting up their own Web site with Jakki Mohr http://www.business.umt.edu/faculty/mohr , a marketing professor at the University of Montana.

"That’s something I might have to spend a little more time on," Malouf said Tuesday. "Maybe I’ll bring the students to the front of the class and I’ll sit back and learn something from them."

Not only have the kids set up their own site – http://www.Zeebly.com – they’re also running a Web log, which savvy third-graders know is called a blog.

The project came courtesy of Mohr, whose daughter, Claire Zellmer, is in Malouf’s class.

"I make it a point to take part in the classroom when I can, and Mr. Malouf had expressed an interest in science and computer projects," Mohr said. "I thought if we could do something that would help familiarize them with computers and the Internet, it would probably be pretty helpful."
