Ligocyte moves into spacious new building to accommodate growth

Ligocyte Pharmaceuticals Inc., http://www.ligocyte.com/ a Bozeman company developing therapeutic drugs and vaccines for treatment of inflammatory and infectious diseases, has recently moved to a new building in the Advanced Technology Park.

The move comes after the company hired 14 new employees in 2004 and four new employees already in 2005, giving it a total of 48 people on staff.

"When I started here in 1998 there were only six employees," said Mike McCue, company CEO. "The growth is due in part because we’ve secured Department of Defense contracts and NIH grants. Those funds have taken us from being a purely research-based company to a drug development company."

Fourteen of Ligocyte’s employees have Ph.Ds in science-related fields, and 65 percent of their work force studied at Montana State University or the University of Montana.
