Air service betweem Great Falls and Denver begins

Great Falls gained direct air connections to Denver this week as United Express quietly began offering flights.

The first flights took place on Wednesday, although the event was not marked by the usual balloons and ribbon cutting.

"There was no fanfare," said Susan Agostinelli, manager of Davidson Travel in Great Falls.

"They are coming in very quietly, but they are giving us some good fares for the traveler," added Carol Lindseth, a local travel agent with Morris Murdock Travel.

The twice-daily departures are at 7:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m., with arrivals from Denver at 1:25 p.m. and 10:06 p.m.

"Great Falls is new to the United Express network, and we are excited about enhancing air service in this community," said Greg Taylor, a United senior vice president.
