Montana ranked high in student access to technology – 11th in the Nation, Wyoming is ranked 3rd

A national report released Thursday shows Montana does a better job than most at getting computers into its classrooms, but education officials worry cuts in federal funding may thwart the state’s progress.

Education Week’s 2005 "Technology Counts" http://www.edweek.org/ew/articles/2005/05/05/35exec.h24.html (Free Registration Required) report ranked Montana 11th out of 50 states and the District of Columbia in its ratio of students per computer — 6.5 students per computer compared with the national average of 7.6 per computer. For Internet access, the state averaged 7.5 students per computer compared with the national average of 8.0.
