Resodyn to research biodegradable plastic bags

$70,000 innovation grant will fund research on waste grease as a base for plastics

When the clerk at the grocery stores asks, "Paper or plastic?" many people choose paper bags because plastic bags are not biodegradable.

"They will stay in the ground for however many years," said FX Yang, senior scientist and chemical engineer for Resodyn Corp. http://www.resodyn.com/ in Uptown Butte.

But Resodyn is researching science that may result in a new breed of biodegradable plastics.
