U.S. News & World Report touts Idaho as good for startups

Technology spinoffs have flourished here

Idaho is featured in this week’s issue of U.S. News & World Report as an attractive place for entrepreneurs to start a business.

The magazine touts the state’s "compelling combination of quality of life and business opportunities" as part of a cover story titled "Key states where hiring is hot."

The article claims that corporate downsizing and the exporting of jobs overseas have led many American workers to consider starting their own business.

"Entrepreneurialism is on the rise throughout the nation, as workers shed their dependence on a steady paycheck in favor of a business of their own," the magazine article states, adding that "the surge is being seen in some perhaps unlikely places, such as Idaho."
