BNSF adds new facility in Glendive

BNSF Railway Company, formerly the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad, recently completed the addition of a reliability center which added 13 jobs and an almost $1 million payroll to the local economy. It cost approximately $1.7 million to build the reliability center which opened for operation in 2004 with 12 employees and one manager.

The building is large enough to house one locomotive. The reliability center is designed to take care of low performing locomotives and apply diagnostic technology to determine problems and come up with a plan to remedy them, said shop superintendent Rick Stauffer.
