Billings business mail growth means expansion for MTS

If your business handled up to 80,000 pieces of mail per day, you might need more space, too. Wayne Fenter’s and Merle Peifer’s Mailing Technical Services http://www.mailingtechnical.com/ business processes that much mail in an average day, and it needed more space.

But, the longtime Billings business, which has quietly grown in the background by processing mail for many Billings-area businesses, now operates more efficiently and comfortably after moving into its new facility at 850 S. 27th in December 2004.

MTS has 364 customers on daily pickup routes in Billings. The business marks postage of up to $25,000 daily and is the largest processor of first class mail in Montana, Peifer said.

"We are the UPS of first-class mail," Peifer said. "We are the post office’s largest customer."

Fenter and Peifer were based in the West End for 10 years before buying the 7,800 square feet of the second floor of the Fratt Building at 2817 Second Ave. N. in downtown Billings.
