Governor Schweitzer addresses Ambassadors as Liz Harris, Kalispell, MT. assumes reins of Montana Ambassadors Organization

Liz Harris of Job’s Now Inc., Kalispell, Montana received the gavel from outgoing President Emil Erhardt, Billings during the Montana Ambassadors http://montanaambassadors.com annual meeting held February 10-11, 2005 in Helena, Montana. Craig Herbert, Sidney became First V.P. while Rick Edwards, Butte assumed the 2nd V.P. seat. Tony Preite of the Montana Department of Commerce in Helena and Kirk Sandquist of Peoples Bank of Deer Lodge hold positions of Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.

Elected as new board members on the Ambassadors were Channing Hartelius, Great Falls; Steve Holland, Bozeman; Sheila Stearns, Helena and Nancy Lien Griffin, Bozeman. Governor Brian Schweitzer presented Ambassador Awards to the following:

· Ambassador of the Year-Pat Seiler, Helena, Montana

· Ambassador Plenipotentiary-Butch Ott, Billings, Montana

· Business of the Year-MSE/MERDI, Butte, Montana

· Entrepreneur of the Year-Andrew Fields, Livingston, Montana

· Educator of the Year-Mary Moe, Great Falls, Montana

Montana Ambassadors and Governor Schweitzer award Mary Moe

Michael P. Malone Educator of the Year-2004

Mary Moe, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Services, MSU-Great Falls College of Technology received the award for the Montana Ambassadors, Michael P. Malone Educator of the Year-2004. The award was presented by Governor Schweitzer and the Montana Ambassadors last week during the Ambassadors annual conference held in Helena, Montana.

The Educator of the Year award is made to a Montanan who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments, excellence and leadership in the field of education. This award embodies the values of Mike Malone, PhD, former president of Montana State University.

Moe is Chief Executive Officer of the College of Technology and Director of the Montana University System Great Falls Higher Education Center. The College community is comprised of approximately 1500 students, 40 full-time faculty, and 50 staff. The Higher Education Center involves approximately 300 additional students taking programs offered by other units of the Montana University System on the MSU—Great Falls Campus.

Montana Ambassadors and Governor Schweitzer award Butch Ott

Ambassador Plenipotentiary

Butch Ott, Billings, MT received the award of Ambassador Plenipotentiary for the Year-2004. The award was presented by Governor Schweitzer and the Montana Ambassadors February 10, 2005 during the Ambassadors annual conference held in Helena, Montana.

The titlle is made to any member of the Montana Ambassadors organization who has rendered especially meritorious service to the industrial or economic development of the State. The award is honorary in nature and continues throughout the lifetime of the recipient.

Butch Ott, President/CEO of the Billings Area Chamber of Commerce for the past 20 years recently retired effective December 31, 2004. During his tenure, Ott lists as accomplishments, the creation of more than 1,000 primary jobs in the early years of Forward Billings as well as significant growth in the Billings Area Chamber of Commerce membership, budget and activities.

Montana Ambassador of the Year-2004

Pat Seiler, Helena MT has received the award of Montana Ambassador of the Year-2004. The award was presented by Governor Schweitzer and the Montana Ambassadors February 10, 2005 during the Ambassadors annual conference held in Helena, Montana.

The award is made to the Montna Ambassador who has done the most in the preceding year to assist in the State’s industrial and economic development effort.

Pat Seiler, Executive Director of the Florence Crittendon Home, Helena, Montana has served the Ambassadors organization as Helena Chapter vice-president. Pat’s efforts to record the Montana Ambassadors 20 year history have given the organization and Montana an economic development legacy to remember. Her service to Montana and her community embodies the true ideals of a Montana Ambassador.
