Extended Systems deal worth $2 million – Boise-based company to supply software to Texas Instruments

Extended Systems Inc. announced a deal with Texas Instruments Tuesday and said it would boost top-line revenues for the current quarter by 20 percent, or $2 million.

The Boise-based wireless software company will supply Texas Instruments with Bluetooth software for cell phones and other systems. Bluetooth is a short-distance wireless connection between devices like cell phones and computers that lets them exchange information, said Charles Jepson, president and chief executive officer of Extended Systems.

"We don’t make your smart phone; we make your smart phone smarter," Jepson laughed as he rephrased a popular ad campaign to fit his company.
