Colorado U’s tech titan sees dream becoming reality in center
ATLAS to shoulder new world of learning possibilities
Bobby Schnabel’s job is to dream big.
Take the high-tech hub now being built at the core of the University of Colorado campus: the Alliance for Technology, Learning and Society building http://www.colorado.edu/ATLAS/home.html .
Schnabel, CU’s technology guru — chief information officer for the Boulder campus — has been one of the leading minds behind the $34 million center. It’s designed as a place where students won’t just use new technology, but where they will think critically about it, and where professors from all across the campus will learn how to change the way they teach because of it.
