to open industry-leading training center and sage certification program for stylists, estheticians, massage therapists, manicurists and managers in the spring of 2005

With locations in Bozeman, MT and Whitefish, MT, nearly 40 new employees over the past 18-months, and planned locations in Billings, MT and Missoula, MT in 2005, Sage International is building a state-of-the-art training center for day spa and salon professionals in Bozeman, MT that will ensure industry-leading guest experiences across the company. "The quality of our guest experience is directly related to the technical skill level and professionalism of our team members, therefore we have to recruit, retain and develop the industries best professionals in order to consistently exceed guest expectations. Building the sage institute was the logical step to achieve these goals," explains Stephanie Orler, Co-Founder of Sage International.

In addition to theory and technical training within their respective areas (stylists, estheticians, massage therapists, manicurists), sage institute participants will also participate in a curriculum that includes advanced training in leadership, communication, technology and how to read and understand financial statements. Upon successfully completing and testing out of Sage Institute, participants will receive a sage certification, which will be a requirement to work at a Sage Spa Salon location.

The facility is 1500 square foot in a newly constructed building and is designed to feel like an urban loft with panoramic views of the Madison, Bridger and Tobacco Root mountain ranges – such a contrast has been an important part of Sage International’s ongoing interior design philosophy, urban interiors overlooking beautiful Montana landscapes. The center connects to a high-speed fiber optic network that supports video conferencing, which will be used to connect sage team members across the state.

"While a handful of day spa and salon companies across the country provide and require an internal certification process for technical skills, we will be the first to incorporate required, advanced training in leadership, communication, technology and finance. As a company we have made the explicit decision that the level of professionalism exhibited by our team members is as important a factor in the overall guest and employment experiences as technical skill and proficiency," added Justin Bigart, Co-Founder Sage International. "We’re focused on building a company that is the best at what we do because we can adapt to the needs of our guests – where every team member understands how he/she supports the vision of company – and, where everyone has the tools and knowledge necessary to make decisions that support that vision. To do so, we are developing an MBA-like program for our employees that is unparalleled in the industry."
