A partnership between a pair of former Helena High School teachers that’s lasted more than 20 years has really taken off in the last five, with the result being a fast-growing software company on the north side of Helena that has contracts with several states around the country.

D&S Diversified Technologies http://www.hdmaster.com/ began with a handshake between Ben Schmitt, now 54, and Paul Dorrance, 58, back in 1982. Their first product: A piece of custom software designed for School District 1, helping schools catalog and track grades, report cards and attendance.
