Experience one: Educational model keeps students focused – University of Montana-Western

Hilda Delgado remembers the days when she’d have to study for a couple of tests in different classes, do some homework for others and maybe try to squeeze in time to write a paper in another. As a freshman enrolled in the University of Montana-Western’s new Experience One program, she doesn’t miss that one bit.

The 20-year-old Delgado from Twin Bridges is part of Western’s first freshman class to be offered a new class delivery system. Experience One allows students to focus on one class at a time for three hours a day over an 18-day period.

Western is believed to be the first public school to offer the model. Three private schools in the country are known to offer this type of scheduling.
