Glacier veterans chosen to run park chalets

Glacier’s grand old family of backcountry chalets will be the first family of the future, as well, with Belton Chalets Inc. winning the right to run the park’s historic wilderness lodges.

Belton Chalets is also known as the Luding family, several generations of which have had a hand in operating Granite Park and Sperry chalets for half a century.

Tuesday, Glacier National Park officials selected the Ludings to manage the chalets for the coming decade.
