Growing a business: Belfry garden sprouts international business

Maybe it’s the Montana sunshine, or the rich soil left from an ancient lake.

Whatever the secret, fresh herbs and garlic grown on a small patch of garden east of Belfry are making quite a stir.

From coast to coast and even beyond, cooks are reaching for On Thyme Gourmet’s chopped herbs, herbed butters and herb seasonings to flavor everything from Thanksgiving turkey to oriental salad.

"Our product is creating quite an excitement because there’s nothing like it on the market," said Karin McGee, sales manager for the company. McGee attributes that excitement to the unique freshness and flavor of On Thyme Gourmet’s products. "A spoon or two in pasta or on vegetables is just heavenly," she says.
