Baucus encourages New Zealand trade

WELLINGTON, New Zealand – U.S. Sen. Max Baucus said Friday the United States should sign a trade deal with New Zealand to give it a foothold in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Montana Democrat supports New Zealand’s bid for a free trade agreement with the United States – a deal that Washington has given little priority despite inking an agreement with Australia earlier this year.
