Utah starts new Web site to help rural businesses

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

The Utah Division of Business and Economic Development’s Office of Rural Development has a new Web site to help rural Utah businesses get information about unique resources available to rural firms.

The features of the site, http://www.rural.utah.gov, include a section that spotlights news about rural Utah and accesses a wide range of newsletters relating to rural economic development issues. Rural entrepreneurs with questions can access a help desk to get a personal e-mail reply.
