Chinese leaders visit Montana to tour area businesses

Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., plans to bring a group of 14 Chinese leaders to Billings and Missoula this week.

The trip is meant to showcase Montana products and businesses, and establish future deals with companies in Shanghai, Baucus said. It was arranged in March when Baucus traveled to China and other Asian countries to promote Montana.

The delegation is scheduled to arrive in Missoula on Monday night. Tours of the Bitterroot Valley and area businesses are planned through Wednesday.

On Thursday, the delegation will tour businesses in Billings and meet with agriculture producers and leaders.

A similar visit by officials from nine Pacific Rim countries was put together by Baucus earlier this year.
