Kentucky Governor Hosts First-Ever Online Chat Session

Last month, Gov. Ernie Fletcher hosted the first-ever online chat session for a Kentucky governor. The Kentucky.gov http://Kentucky.gov management team reported that the governor really enjoyed the chat format because it allowed him to quickly submit responses directly to constituents on issues that concern them most.

And submit they did. The hour-long session was packed with questions on the budget, tax reform, health care, the reorganization of state government and much more. According to Lee Tompkins, the marketing director for Kentucky.gov, "We were very pleased with the turnout. There are so many people online today in Kentucky, the chat session format is a great way to reach out to them in their homes, at work or wherever they can reach the Web."

Chat sessions are available via the Kentucky Web site for any state agency wanting to host one. It’s anticipated that Fletcher will be hosting another one in the future.
