Law firm slates legal seminars for Idaho business owners beginning April 6

Four seminars on legal topics for business owners will begin April 6, sponsored by Hawley Troxell Ennis and Hawley, LLP, according to a press release from the law firm. Each program will be presented in Pocatello, Boise, Ketchum.

The first seminar, "Forming a Business Entity and Identifying and Protecting its Intellectual Property," will be presented April 6 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., in the Teton South Room at the Red Lion Inn. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Presenters will be local attorneys Howard Burnett and Jason Scott.

This seminar will focus on describing the various types of business entities that can be formed, and look at the advantages and disadvantages of each. It will also present an overview of intellectual property law and issues, with an eye to helping business owners identify and protect the obvious and not-so-obvious intellectual property upon which the success of the business may depend.

"Your Golden Asset – Employees" May 20 will focus on human resource fundamentals, discuss employment law and address matters of recruitment and retention.

"Growing the Business Without Growing Pains" will be presented in Pocatello June 17. This seminar will look at the pros and cons of growth through buying another business or merging with another firm.

"Managing the Risks Associated with Doing Business" July 23 in Pocatello will focus on how to protect personal assets, business, property and ideas.
