The new round-trip flight is expected to begin June 1, leaving Phoenix at 10:05 a.m. and arriving in Kalispell at 1:45 p.m. The return flight will leave Kalispell at 2:10 p.m., arriving in Phoenix at 3:45 p.m., the airline said.

Rep. Denny Rehberg, R-Mont., said Wednesday he has been working for several months to bring the new service to Kalispell.

Rehberg, a member of the House Aviation Subcommittee, said the new service will be good news for the local economy and for visitors to northwestern Montana, including Glacier National Park.

Kalispell is the third destination America West has added this year. Non-stop daily service to Anchorage, Alaska, is expected to begin June 1, and non-stop daily service to Page, Ariz., begins May 16, both flights out of Phoenix.

The airline has hubs in Phoenix and Las Vegas.
