The company will start to transition the Twin Falls call center in the next few weeks, and plans to take the first calls from business clients in early April.

The company´s call centers elsewhere will absorb the consumer call load the Twin Falls site now handles, said Marty Hand, site leader for Twin Falls.

Greg Rogers, Idaho Department of Labor´s Magic Valley labor economist, said the switch should reduce attrition by giving current employees better hours and incentives, but the switch will not create new jobs.

Dell opened its Twin Falls doors in February 2002 with 203 employees and ended that year with a staff of 727. Recent specific employment records have not been released. Rogers pegged Dell´s employment at about 630 people.
